Community Highlights: Meet Lindsay and Scott Meyer of Congaree and Penn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay and Scott Meyer. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Lindsay and Scott Meyer established Congaree and Penn in 2014. It began as dirt and weeds, and it’s grown into a flourishing farm that is dedicated to agriculture & culinary endeavors, and gathering the community to enjoy both. Through the interest from chefs and other restaurants in the city, listening to what the Jacksonville market wanted, and a lot of trials and errors, Congaree and Penn is what it is today.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Of course not. We’ve experienced many bumps and growing pains. From establishing a solid team to inspiring people to visit our “out of the way” destination, we’ve had to work hard to create a successful business. The pandemic also threw us for a loop as well. But we pivoted for the best.

We’ve been impressed with Congaree and Penn, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We’re a Florida farm and restaurant dedicated to agriculture & culinary endeavors, and gathering the community to enjoy both. Congaree and Penn is a 330 acre farm that offers dining, agritourism, landscape tree sales, hard cider production and private events.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Perseverance.
